November Events Worth Celebrating in Lehigh Valley! | Lehigh Valley Moms

National Adoption Month

Celebrate National Adoption Month by spreading awareness through social media, donating time to an organization that supports adoption and foster care such as The Kindness Project here in the Lehigh Valley, or if you have an adoption story, share it!

No-Shave November

Guys, this one is for you. Go without your razor for a month while raising funds for cancer. We love that the South Whitehall Police Department promotes No-Shave November by having its officers donate to the cause while getting to grow that beard.

Día de las Muertos

The Day of the Dead celebrates friends and relatives who have passed. It is a unique and beautiful Mexican holiday celebrated on November 2nd to honor those who have gone before us. A great way to teach kids about Día de las Muertos is one of our favorite movies, Coco.

Election Day

Get out and Vote! November 2nd!

Diwali

The Festival of Lights is celebrated over 5 days. It is India’s biggest holiday. In 2021, it falls on November 4th.

Daylight Savings Ends (Clocks Fall Back)

Set those clocks back on November 7th

STEM Day

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics are the focus on November 8th. Build with legos, create a paper airplane. Read one of our favorite STEM stories such as Iggy Peck Architect.

Veterans Day

November 11th we celebrate and honor those who have served in our armed forces.

Thanksgiving

Celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, this day of giving thanks for the harvest.

Black Friday – Small Business Saturday – Cyber Monday

The weekend following Thanksgiving is usually a chance to start thinking about holiday shopping! Remember, shop small! We have so many great businesses in the Lehigh Valley. Let’s support local!

Hanukkah

This holiday begins on the evening of Sunday, November 28th and ends on the evening of Monday, December 6th in 2021. It is the Jewish festival of lights that lasts for eight days and celebrates the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem and the victory of the Maccabees.

Giving Tuesday

This Tuesday after Thanksgiving is a chance to give back to the community, causes, and people who need us. Lehigh Valley is home to many incredible nonprofits and Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement.
