What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I was homeschooled elementary through middle school, I have celiac disease and am always on the hunt for any gluten free goodies, and I’m a sucker for any Pitbull song!
What is your favorite family activity in the Lehigh Valley?
We love parking the car in random neighborhoods and walking, all while checking out the different homes and landscaping in that specific area. The West End of Allentown is our favorite!
Favorite place to eat in the Lehigh Valley with kids? Without?
My husband and I LOVE Youells Oyster House and often bring our daughter with us
What’s been the best piece of advice you’ve received from another mother?
As a co-sleeping, breastfeeding mom, this one is always way easier said than done… “Just do what is best for your family-what works for you may be the complete opposite for the next family.”
Tell us about Rooted Salon!
My husband and I are the owners of Rooted Salon in Allentown. This past March we celebrated our 4th year in business. It is no easy task working with your husband, but we re very fortunate to be able to share the workload of being small business owners between the two of us. Brandon manages the front desk, payroll, accounting, taxes, etc, while I am a stylist and handle anything that happens on the salon floor. We are most proud of being named “Best Women’s Salon” by Lehigh Valley Style Magazine for all four years we have been in business. We strive to create an atmosphere of calm, cleanliness, relaxation and comfort. Our team is our extended family and we are so proud to work alongside of each one of them.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
I enjoy being involved in a community where I can feel comfortable being myself and expressing the decisions I have chosen as a mother.
